The Yamaha C3 grand piano was released as a prototype by Yamaha in the early 1970s and has since gone through six construction periods: 1979-1985 (C3, 2nd model), 1985-1988 (C3A), 1988-1990 (C3B), 1990- 1994 (C3E), 1994-1999 (C3, 3rd model) and 1999-present (C3L).
Beginning with Yamaha C3A this grand piano has 3 pedals instead of 2 as before and from 1990 the length of the Yamaha C3 is 186 cm instead of 183 cm before.
