Yamaha Upright Pianos

Yamaha refurbished pianos (As Good As New) 250 Yamaha pianos in stock.

"We have had bad experiences with importing used pianos directly from Hong Kong or Japan, so we now purchase our reconditioned Yamaha and Kawai pianos from a European distributor in Holland called Music Brokers. They also run the large piano retail stores in Holland called BOL Pianos. Their reconditioned Yamaha pianos are the very best we have experienced and look "as new" - the cabinets are perfect, many parts are replaced with new products, they even add a slow-fall mechanism to the key cover and a lid prop for the top door. They usually have hundreds of pianos in stock and ship to us in the UK with no problem. I suggest you contact Claudia Atanasoae - Music Brokers as she deals with the exports to trade customers." - Major UK Piano Retailer.

The well-known model range of Yamaha Pianos and Grand pianos built only fully in Japan, is the famous range of the Yamaha U Pianos series: U1, U2 and U3. It is about the longest range of years that the U1, U2 and U3 pianos have been built in piano history, keeping more or less the same design. Only small cabinet/fashion changes were made in the more than past 60 years.

The serial numbers under 1 million up to over 5 million of the Japan made pianos, gradually go up year by year accordingly the production numbers of that time. In order to indicate the small changes made in cabinet/construction are indicated as U1D, U1E, U1F, U1G, U1H, U1M, U1A (same for U2 and U3D, U3E etc.).

All these small changes such as: 2 pedals or 3 pedals, legs or no legs, (latest brand name) logo, non-existing or existing slow fall at the keys lid, are depending on the production year. Another particular important action that Music Brokers Pianos/Netherlands does, is the sanding and lacquering of the Soundboard of high quality Sitka Spruce, brings back the wood to the fitness and flexibility of the original sound. We are proud of had beeing able to standardize all these variables by our own factory control to the "One modern look of today".

Therefore, all our models are having added legs, new logo, 3 pedals, slowfall mechanism, complete new polyester lacquer of black and white and also added fully new veneered Walnut satin.

The Music Brokers 100% refurbished Japanese pianos and grand pianos are exquisite to these aspects as the one and only highest quality refurbished Yamaha pianos on the market. It distinguishes the details, which other Used Yamaha Pianos do not provide.

The Japanese production Quality reached the highest level of Yamaha Pianos in their new Japanese production, however, all these new Yamaha pianos are sold at more than double of the price of Music Brokers Used Refurbished Standardized Yamaha Pianos from Japan, which are at a much better quality than the lower qualified productions of Yamaha New Pianos made in other Asian countries.

What does "Refurbished" mean?

  • In short, these instruments are 'As Good As New'

YAMAHA Grand Pianos

Yamaha is one of the most popular piano brands. Yamaha was founded in 1887 by Torakusu. From 1900 Yamaha started making pianos and they have grown into one of the largest musical instrument builders in the world. In addition to pianos and grand pianos, Yamaha also offers a lot of other products, such as drum kits, boxes, guitars, wind instruments, string instruments, etc. Nevertheless, the love for pianos among all these other instruments was never forgotten and Yamaha remains a very important name in the piano world.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE YAMAHA GRAND PIANOS

1902
In 1900 Yamaha started the production of pianos and two years later Yamaha built the first grand piano made in Japan, which was immediately awarded at the Osaka fair.

1950: The FC Grand Piano: Yamaha's first concert grand piano.
In 1951 the pianist Adolf Baller played on this grand piano together with violinist Yehudi Menuhin during a tour through Japan and in 1953 the then world-famous German pianist played Walter Gieseking the FC grand piano in the Imperial Palace for the Japanese Emperor.

1967: C Series Grand Pianos and the CF Concert Grand
Yamaha introduced the C-series grand pianos and at the Frankfurt music fair presented the CF concert grand piano, which was highly appreciated by connoisseurs and regularly used on concert stages by famous pianists.

1983: CFIII concert grand piano
Yamaha's constant pursuit of quality improvement led in 1983 to the introduction of the widely acclaimed and widely used CFIII concert grand piano.

1991: CFIIIS concert grand piano
With the CFIIIS concert grand, introduced in 1991, Denis Matsuev won the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition. With this Yamaha proved itself as a top-class grand piano builder.

2010: CF Series concert grand pianos and the top model CFX
The CFX concert grand piano makes it clear that the very best of Yamaha has been brought together. At the CFX, with her enormous dynamic range, Yulianna Avdeeva won the 16th International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in 2010.

2012: CX Series Grand Pianos
The CX Series grand pianos have a thickened rear frame, resulting in an extra rich, resonant tone.

YAMAHA G SERIES AND C SERIES

The two most popular series of Yamaha grand pianos are the G series and the C series. The pianos in this series are of top quality.

The Yamaha G Series features grand pianos with a beautiful tone and the range of classic grand pianos. The models in this series are:

  • Yamaha G1
  • Yamaha G2
  • Yamaha G3
  • Yamaha G5

The Yamaha C Series grand pianos are specifically designed for advanced piano players. They have a permanent place in the concert world and can be found in most conservatories around the world.
